As time passes, the wooden book stands at Sam Kee Bookstore are struggling to bear weight. However, the bookstore stands tall as a representation of the vibrant North Point community. Fellow Hong Kong based carpenters CHI CHOI MAO and Caphis Chan have designed a practical and durable display cabinet for the shop owner’s collections, and to accompany the bookstore to new heights.
CHI CHOI MAO is a small wood working workshop founded in 2018 Hong Kong. This Hong Kong based wood working workshop is formed by one carpenter and two cats. The name CHI CHOI MAO is the pronunciation of Cantonese “自在貓”. This is hoped that our products can create a harmony and relaxing atmosphere, just like the life of our cat founders Kin Kin & Ar Mei.
Caphis Chan, co-founder of PathFinder, is a Slasher who focuses on installation, interior design, theatre design and handcrafting works. With a background in Art and Design in Education, Caphis has collaborated with different NGOs and creative groups to organize different innovative workshops and groups.
